The only album American Football made as a trio of Mike Kinsella, Steve Holmes and Steve Lamos, recorded in Urbana, Illinois, in May 1999 and released on Polyvinyl. Two clean guitars weave around each other, each song in a different tuning, with Wurlitzer and trumpet, under Kinsella's quiet singing about leaving and love gone wrong, in "Never Meant", "The Summer Ends" and "Honestly?".
