The first attempt at a systematic Christian theology, covering God and the Trinity, rational beings and their fall, the world and human freedom, and how to interpret Scripture. Origen offers much of it as reverent speculation beyond the church's settled teaching, and it survives mostly in a Latin translation that softened some passages.
