A short baptismal creed in three parts, on the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It grew from the Old Roman Creed of the third and fourth centuries and reached its received form in Gaul around the seventh; despite the legend that each apostle contributed a line, it is not the apostles' own work.
